Photo of the Week: Ready to Soar

Each week, I share an image I've captured along my travels and about the photograph's context.

This last Saturday, I visited the Combat Air Museum. Having been there several times, and thinking like a photographer, I knew I wanted to go in the morning because the hangar windows face the rising sun. The light coming in would be the strongest and provide the best possibility for dramatic shadows. I was not disappointed.
This plane, a Vultee BT-13, sits proudly in Hangar 602. Almost as if it's just bidding its time for someone to come and open the doors. Then it could soar again.
Personal Field Note
If you close your eyes, you can almost hear the phantom sounds of a plane sputtering to life.

EDITING
All post-production was done in Lightroom. My usual first action is to adjust the highlights and shadows, which I did here, mainly the highlights. The primary edit was warming the image to enhance the sunlight coming in the windows.
Here is a screenshot of the original RAW image vs. the edited one.
