Wild Heart
 
On an early summer afternoon, I was trudging down a dirt road in Greenwood Co., Kansas, when a dark dot caught my eye. Slowing the car, I looked closer. Standing in a green pasture surrounded by wildflowers, I saw my first wild horse in the Flint Hills. 
 
The lone creature stood watch over the endless prairie — strong, still, and free. This is Wild Heart, a fine art photograph taken deep within the expanses of the Flint Hills, where the last stretch of tallgrass prairie rolls beneath Kansas skies.
 
This image is more than a study of form or movement. It's a love letter to the Heartland — to the creatures that roam it.
